Forsaken

Midnight,
Rest has deserted me.
My mind is all over,
Scattered in every corner,
Far out of sight.

Blackened,
My stare across the bed.
One step and gone,
Stuck in this safety,
No way out.

More forsaken than forsaken.
Lonelier than lonely I can not be.
Twists and turns I carry,
On my bare back.
These cold scars hurt my skin,
I carry my burden.
That none other sees, nor knows.

Morning,
I lay still awake.
Searching back my mind,
Bits and those pieces,
Nowhere within my grasp.

Darkened,
I feel deep inside.
No more, nothing else,
Captured within myself,
All I am.

More forsaken than forsaken.
Lonelier than lonely I can not be.
Twists and turns I carry,
On my bare back.
These cold scars hurt my skin,
I carry my burden.
That none other sees, nor knows.
